President
Sir Stephen O’Brien serves as the President of Unitas Communications. He is also the Chairman of Barts Health NHS Trust and Ed Miliband’s Mental Health in Society Task Force. Previously he was the Chairman of NHS Tower Hamlets and Teach First as well as on the Board of the University of East London.

Muddassar Ahmed
Managing Partner
In addition to leading Unitas, Muddassar is the President of the Concordia Forum and a Patron of the Faiths Forum for London. He is also a Former Independent Advisor to the UK Government, and on boards for the Atlantic Council think tank, Global Ties USA, ISTAC -IIUM (Malaysia) and a Fellow of the German Marshall Fund of the United States (GMF). Muddassar has been listed as amongst the 500 most influential Muslims globally and amongst the 1000 most influential Londoners.

Shiraz Ahmad
Partner
Shiraz is a Partner at Unitas Communications, where he has led projects for the United Nations, Amnesty International, the NFL, the Arab League, the US State Department, and Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), among many others. He is also the Co-Founder of the Concordia Forum. Shiraz has a background in communications having worked as the Communications Officer for the British Chambers of Commerce in Czech Republic before founding Unitas with Muddassar back in 2008.

Haroon Moghul
Account Director
Haroon serves as an Account Director at Unitas. In addition, he is a regular commentator on Islam and public affairs; he has appeared on all major US networks and many international news networks. Haroon is also an academic who has authored several books, including How To Be A Muslim: An American Story (2017) and The Future of Islam is in Your Hands (2022). His articles have been published by numerous leading media outlets including The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, TIME, Foreign Policy, The Guardian and Al Jazeera, among many others.

Hassan A. Abdein
Account Director
Hassan serves as an Account Director and Senior Advisor to Unitas Communications on public policy issues. He focuses on developing partnerships with corporate, government, international organisations and the non-profit sector. Hassan has also advised the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation on projects related to the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN), the European Union (EU), and the United Nations (UN).

Shayna Wilson
Senior Media Officer
Shayna is a Senior Media Officer at Unitas. She holds an MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh and recently completed a creative writing course at Faber Academy in London. She has written for publications such as environmental non-profit Mongabay and has worked in various communications, strategy and research roles across the US, UK and China.

Abdul Moiz
Junior Account Executive
Moiz is a Junior Account executive at Unitas. He holds an undergraduate degree in International Politics from City, University of London and has recently completed his postgraduate course in War Studies at King’s College London. Moiz’s academic interests lie predominantly in irregular warfare and conflict resolution. Previously, he has participated as researcher and speaker at the University of South Wales ‘Decision 2020’ and has attended the prestigious London School of Economics and Political Science Summer School programme.

Fazle Salam
Junior Account Executive
Fazle is a graduate of Kings College London, where he earned his degree in Digital Culture. During his time there, Fazle specialized in Digital Journalism and Investigations, as well as Digital Research Methods. Before joining Unitas, Fazle has interned for a world-recognized NGO in Bangladesh.

Azam Mahmood Butt
Media Writer
Azam is a Media Writer at Unitas Communications. He is a business graduate with an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. Previously, Azam has held editorial positions within the pressrooms of leading national English Newspapers in Pakistan in editorial positions. He has also managed the content for UAE’s leading real estate web portal Bayut and ran an educational web and print magazine published out of Lahore. He has also worked in association with the retail/supply chain industry in Pakistan.
